In December 2021, I was told by three different back surgeons that I needed a spinal fusion. I was 42 years old. Spinal stenosis in my lower lumbar left my nerve pathways impinged and the subsequent chain of muscles weakened, leaving me unable to walk or dress myself. Their solution was to drill screws and rods into my spine to create space and free the nerves. Two weeks before my surgery, I reached out to NRP. Paul quickly found the neurological origin of my weakened pathways and began to remove the soft tissue restrictions freeing my impingenerves. After my first session, I was able to walk, pain free, for the first time in 2 years. When we were confident that the soft tissue issues were resolved, I began working on neuro-activation with Danny. My work in the gym with Danny was aimed at improving the interaction between my brain, movement receptors, and muscles. When I started, my brain couldn’t tell my body how to hinge, or walk heel to toe. When I was done, I was not only walking, I was climbing mountains. Last, but certainly not least, is Matt. In October, I suffered a back injury and imaging showed that the spinal stenosis had advanced and osteoarthritis in my spine was now part of my story. Matt began by stimulating the receptors embedded in my muscles and manipulating the soft tissue impinging the associated muscles. In the gym, we worked on holding specific positions and established movement patterns to open the neurological pathways between my muscles and brain. I’m 45 years old and have never been mentally or physically stronger than I am now. NRP has given me hope, restored my confidence and gave me my life back.

My first meeting with Paul was both humbling and life changing. I had been dealing with muscular related low back pain (MRI was negative) and debilitating glute spasming that was limiting basic daily activity. Paul was able to assess and give me the hard truth that my movement patterns were a mess and my issues were only going to get worse unless I started making changes. An avid workout guy, hearing that I had been doing it wrong all these years was hard to hear, but I bought in, re-learned fundamentals from the ground up and slowly got out of pain and walking upright. My day job won’t allow me to be perfect but I have enough tools now to keep myself on the right path and continue to build strength while stacked on the right neuromuscular pathways. Highly recommend!

NRP is incredible - truly life-changing. I have seen drastic improvements in my core strength and balance. The chronic pain I had in my hip and legs is gone. I can now play paddle pain-free and am performing better in my 50's than I was able to in my 40's. NRP works and I would strongly recommend it!

I highly recommend NRP to anyone that wants to improve their physical well-being, whether you’re an athlete, have chronic issues causing severe pain and limitations to simple daily activities, or anything between. The trainers understand neuro muscular connectivity and training beyond most. I have been through countless physical therapist and forms of treatment over the last 20 years after suffering from a lumbar derangement (4 herniated discs). Matt at NRP has drastically improved my life - reduced chronic pain significantly, progression from limitations to basic daily activities to playing any sport that I desire, am living a happier more fulfilled life, and continuing to get stronger. I have seen them help pro athletes and many others with chronic issues. THANK YOU NRP! You improve our lives.

Wow has NRP changed my life. Starting post college for two decades I had a rotating myriad of debilitating back hip, sacrum, neck or shoulder pain. To a point where I would go three to five days without being able to walk. And man was it a depressing time. Not just the pain but not knowing. Not knowing how to stop it not knowing why it happened to me. Even despite being a very healthy active and very knowledgeable person compared to the general population, I could not figure out what was going on. After many MRIs and x-rays and meeting with five different trainers and physical therapists and chiropractors and stretch Specialists, you name it, I finally came across Paul Matthews. He was speaking a different language, in the best way possible. And my journey over the last year has totally changed my body and my mind. I do still get flare ups here and there but now I can get out of them in an hour for the most part. And mostly I can avoid them altogether now. I'm still working through plenty of stuff but my body feels totally different. I feel like I have different connection points that I had lost for years and I'm back to doing things I was doing in high school and college. Even though I'm not back at my peak "heavy lifting strength" I had in college, I feel more stable than I have in any of my recent memory and feel a completely different sense of strength, stability and awareness. And I'm excited to continue to level up. The bonus is that the entire NRP team and staff is amazing. Great people that have become great friends and that have become co-collaborators on creating a life and community and support system of fun and challenging experiences. I've always been a part of a gym because the energy you feel makes all the world the difference. And this location and team and group of humans is worth going out of your way for and even paying a premium for. Get your reset now

NRP is the best!! Due to major lower back problems, I had to completely stop golfing. Other physical therapists told me my back was too bad—they couldn’t help me. Now I’m playing 2-3 times a week. With no pain! NRP created a personalized plan for me. NRP I owe you!

In March of this year, I experienced my third herniated disc, specifically the S1 (with L4 and L5 having troubled me previously). Unlike my earlier two herniations, this one brought not only intense back pain but also tingling and numbness coursing down my leg. It became excruciating to sit, stand, put on socks, or even shoes, and I found myself stumbling as I walked. The pain, on a scale of 1 to 10, was a relentless 9. Desperate for relief, I rushed to the ER where a battery of tests and scans revealed not just another herniation but also severe nerve damage causing foot drop. Surgery loomed on the horizon, but I was determined to explore alternative options. I consulted multiple physicians, tried various therapies, including massages, stimulation, chiropractic care, and stretching, but none seemed to make a significant difference. As time passed, the doctors' warnings grew graver: I had a mere 4-6 months to find a solution, or risk permanent nerve damage. It was during this precarious period that I reached out to Paul. On my initial visit, he delved into a thorough examination, asking insightful questions, assessing my movement, and palpating my muscles, nerves, and bones. Paul concurred with the previous diagnoses of herniation and nerve issues, but he offered something invaluable - hope. He assured me that we could bypass surgery and recover not only from the pain but also from the nerve damage. Surgery might provide immediate relief, but it wasn't the long-term solution. Paul enlightened me by explaining that the herniation was a symptom, not the root cause; it lay in my movement patterns. By focusing on the way I sit, stand, and walk, I could address the underlying problem to prevent it from recurring. When I embarked on this journey with Paul in April, my pain level hovered around a debilitating 9.5, and walking was a painful struggle. Fast forward 7 months, and I've steered clear of surgery, resumed playing recreational sports, and weightlifting multiple days a week. I've gained the ability to self-correct my posture and movement patterns, thanks to the invaluable insights and techniques I've learned from Paul and the NRP Protocol. If you're seeking to avoid surgery, gain a deeper understanding of how to avert future issues, and regain control of your movement, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to Paul and the rest of the NRP team. Their expertise and commitment have truly been life changing.

I’ve been working with Paul Mathews for 8 months now and I am very pleased with my experience and my progress. I’m 67 and have issues with my neck, feet, balance and lower back. Paul understands my situation and he has provided solutions that have allowed me to feel less pain while getting stronger and more confident of my physical health. He breaks down explanations of what the problems are and how they affect my movements (or lack there of) in a way I can understand. It’s fascinating. It’s working. Thanks Paul!

NRP has truly changed my life. I have had chronic back/neck pain since I was 13 years old, and chronic pain on top of being an athlete was completely debilitating. My pain was affecting every aspect of my life for years until I met Paul and Danny at NRP. They understand my situation and my body like no one else and have told me things that countless doctors, MRI’s, X-rays haven’t been able to. In high school I was a competitive athlete who would leave practice every day barely even able to walk, now thanks to Paul and Danny I am able to live a very full normal life doing all of the things I love to do including sports because of the way they approach every situation and help you understand where the issue is in your movements. They not only help fix any issues you are having but they help you maintain the feeling you get when you leave each day. I have spent half of my life in chronic pain and now feeling better each day is something I will forever be thankful to NRP for giving me!!
